Monrovia – December 12, 2009. Apostolic News. From 1989-2003 Liberia has been held hostage by itself.  Civil war killed an estimated 200,000 plus people, often in ways which most of the Western world could not imagine.  But into a setting with this kind of still remembered history Missionary Albert Stewart extended an invitation to me to come and conduct a crusade.

Plans and programs were put in motion months before the crusade came.  And God graciously honored the prayers, plans and crusade promotions of people who united to see something bigger and more powerful together than any of them could see individually by themselves.

Tuesday, December 8th, the crusade began in a subdivision of Monrovia called Stanley Tolbert Estates. Every night the service was initiated by high exaltation of the Name of Jesus as the people were lead in praise and worship unto God by singers of the United Pentecostal Church of Liberia.  And every night was marked by a special move of God as the Spirit drew people to know Him.

The first night, I preached from Luke 1:37 on the subject of With God. God’s spirit led me to not only proclaim what God could do but to boldly state what God was going do during the crusade.  The gift of faith flowed mightily and God confirmed His Word as 251 received the Holy Ghost for the very first time the first night.

The second night team member Evangelist Kelly Caywood told his testimony and preached.  Bro. Caywood preached on Sure Mercies. He took his text from Romans 12:1-2 and testified about how God filled him with Holy Ghost while he was still in prison.   Telling how God reduced his life sentence to one year served so he could preach this message of hope. He stated God took him from being “a four time loser in prison to a lifetime winner in Jesus Christ”.  His testimony greatly moved people as everyone was encouraged that no situation was impossible with God.  Many received the Holy Ghost.

The third night, I preached on God’s Expressed Will from the Biblical text of 2 Corinthians 5:19.   Pointing out that when Jesus Christ died on Calvary God had expressed His desire and will for every single soul to be saved.  There was a very special move of God as many were filled with the Holy Ghost and numerous miracles happened as God again confirmed His Word.

The last night was no exception to the other nights of the crusade.  Expectation was high and God’s Spirit moved powerfully among the people as they came seeking to see Him do something again.  As the service progressed to the ordained moment of Bible proclamation I preached on A Question That Matters from Acts 19:1-2.  God did not disappoint.   People flooded forward to receive the Holy Ghost as God showed Himself strong and mighty among the people again.

At the end of the meetings, a total of 1,206 had received the Holy Ghost for the very first time with numerous miracles and many renewals also taking place.  Reports are still coming in concerning what God did for lives.  But one thing was already known, Jesus had become Lord and God in the hearts of many new people. To God be the Glory!
