matildeHermosillo, Sonora, Mexico- April 3rd, 2010. In the midst of a country where drug wars and violence are on the rise, God is pouring out great Revival among the people of Mexico. Last Saturday night in Hermosillo, the capital city of Sonora, thirteen souls were filled with the Holy Ghost at an outdoor revival service. One of the souls who received the Holy Ghost was a 12-year old boy who had brought his father with him for the first time. Missionary Moses Perez reported the boy’s father, “wept with joy seeing what God had done for his son.” They are hopeful that his father will continue to make his way towards the Lord.

The next morning Missionary Leo Perez, Pastor in Nogales, Sonora, preached the message titled “Six Reasons Why You Should Have The Holy Ghost”. After the altar call, ten more souls were filled with the Holy Ghost bring their two day total to 23! A dear 83 year- old lady by the name of Matilde was also baptized that Sunday night. Matilde had been very set in her Catholic ways and had never wanted to hear anything contrary. She finally came to church with her son Filadelfio and his wife. After receiving bible studies from her daughter-in-law she began to slowly make her way to God with much reservation. Finally God’s presence melted away the doubt in her heart and she decided it was time for her to be baptized in the wonderful name of Jesus!

Missionary Perez reported that in the city of Villa Juarez, Sonora, he and his family held a revival service on a house patio unknowingly 200 meters from where the police chief and town’s mayor were assassinated. God held out His hand of protection while this atrocious event was happening and nine souls were filled with the Holy Ghost that night!

Two and a half years ago Missionary Moses Perez, his wife Erica, and their three young children came to the city of Hermosillo to start a church. They now have an average of 70 people in attendance. The Perez family is continuing to reach out to other parts of Mexico and have successfully started a daughter work in the nearby city of Obregon, Sonora. The Perez family is not stopping there. They are continuing to believe God for other open doors in the country of Mexico so that many more souls will receive this glorious Act 2:38 message!
