Millions of Christians in Faisalabad under Fear after Alleged Blasphemy Case

Faisalabad, Pakistan - July 12, 2010. A Muslim religious group named Tehreek-e-Tahafaz Nabawat Mohammad which claims to be Prophet Mohammad to be the last prophet Mohammad on earth, took out a procession in city of Faisalabad to condemn to distribute of a Pamphlet by some Christians which they term it as blasphemy.

The activists of Tehreek-e-Tahafaz Nabawat chanted slogans against Christians and demanded death for those who distributed a leaflet which assumed by Muslims as blasphemy and derogatory to Islam and Prophet Mohammad.

Mr. Rashid Emanuel age 32 and Sajid Emaunel age 30, of Daud Nagar/Warispura Faisalabad were arrested on July 4, 2010, by Civil Lines Police Station and charged under blasphemy Section 295-C PPC on complain by Mohammad Khuram Shezad a merchant of Rail Bazar, who complained that both accused were distributing the pamphlets based on blasphemy in the Rail Bazar openly.

The Christian Lawyer Foundation CLF is providing legal to victims and trying to bring situation under control that Muslims may not attack Christian colonies in Faisalabad.

The Christians of Daud Nagar, Warispura, Barkatpura, Bilal Town, Ibne Marriam, Jhandapir of huge polluted area of Christians in Faisalabad are living under constant fear after incident of arrest of two Christians and processions taken out by Muslim extremist organizations.

Now the situation is peaceful as described by Mr. Stephen Habib ex-local councilor before going this story to update but fear remains among million of Faisalabad Christians.
