HONDURAS - September 7, 2010. Recently we were able to visit the Mayan ruins here in Honduras. It was very interesting to learn how a society can degenerate to the point of killing themselves out. The fifteenth and final ruler began to oppress the people until in the end everyone left the Acropolis, which was the Holy City of the Mayan Indians. To this day, archeologist do not know where the Mayans disappeared to.
The Mayans played a game which was similar to soccer, in which the winning team’s captain would be sacrificed upon an alter. It was here that his heart would be torn out and placed upon a round alter.
What struck me, was to see how that Satan has an imitation for everything that is of God. The supreme Mayan ruler was who they worshiped. This one king was their key to salvation (so they believed). Here we see the imitation of our King Jesus who really does rule as King and who really does bring salvation to His people. The world that we live in today has not changed from the time of the Mayans. People today are still looking for someone to open the door to salvation for them. Many are willing to give their lives for a false god who cannot see and hear.
I wonder about you. Would you be willing to give your life for your God? What are you doing to make a difference in this world? We are fast approaching the end of the Church age. With so many disillusioned souls on the brink, it behooves us to work like we have never worked before!
Please continue to pray for Honduras.
We want to see the flames of revival sweep through our land!
